🌳 Panchayat Level Tree Committee

The Panchayat Level Tree Committee has been constituted to protect trees located along public roads and public places and to prevent accidents caused by uprooted, damaged, or fallen trees and branches.

The committee has been formed in accordance with Circular No. 248/RC3/2016/LSGD dated 14.07.2017 issued by the Local Self Government Department. The committee enables timely decision-making at the local level, especially in emergency situations, avoiding delays that may occur when approval from the District Level Tree Committee is required.

📋 Major Responsibilities

  • Inspect trees and branches in public places to assess potential safety risks.
  • Take necessary action regarding trees that pose a threat to public life and property.
  • Direct owners to remove hazardous trees located on private property.
  • Initiate legal action when owners fail to comply and recover expenses from the concerned person.
  • Ensure valuation of removed trees is conducted through the Forest Department.
  • Coordinate tree conservation activities within the Panchayat area and ensure environmental safety.
  • Maintain a balance between public safety and environmental protection.
